Telenor (Pakistan)

Telenor Pakistan, a subsidiary of Norwegian-based Telenor Group, is a mobile network operator that provides GSM coverage in Pakistan, where Telenor launched its first commercial services in Karachi, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi in March 2005, and later moved forward with its expansion toward other regions.

Besides its presence in Pakistan, the Telenor Group owns and controls mobile networks in 10 more countries across Europe and Asia. With more than 127 million customers as of 2011, Telenor is among the largest communications providers in the world. In Pakistan, where Telenor serves more than 26.7 million customers or an equivalent market share of 24%, its investments have reached more than US$2 billion.

Besides continuously implementing innovative strategies to keep its mobile services on par with that of its competitors, Telenor Pakistan, which owns shares of Tameer Microfinance Bank, consistently promotes Easypaisa, a mobile banking service launched in 2009 to support Telenor’s branchless banking campaign. Easypaisa offers services such as utility bill payments, money transfer, mobile wallet, and airtime top-up.

Today, Telenor’s coverage reaches more than 3,000 cities and towns across the country. Telenor Prepaid Plans

Telenor Talkshawk A1

Telenor Talkshawk A1, one of Telenor’s prepaid plans, offers competitive mobile calling rates especially for calls to frequently dialed numbers, commonly known as Friends and Family (FnF) numbers. Local FnF calls are charged only Rs0.7 per minute, while calls to international FnF numbers cost Rs1.5 per minute. Other calls cost Rs1 per minute to on-net numbers and Rs1.4 per minute to other network operators and PTCL numbers. A call setup fee of Rs0.40 will be charged on the first minute of every call.

Telenor Talkshawk Har Second

Compared to Telenor’s other prepaid plans, the Talkshawk Har Second charges calls per second, hence its appeal to customers who make shorter calls more frequently.  Calls to Friends and Family numbers are also made affordable at 3 paisa per second, while talk time to Telenor numbers and to other networks costs 4 paisa per second and 5 paisa per second, respectively. Internet pay-as-you-go rate is at Rs15 per megabyte of data transfer.

Telenor Talkshawk 30 Second

For yet another cost-effective mobile calling, this prepaid package offers a calling rate of Rs0.45 per second to Telenor Friends and Family numbers, while all other domestic calls, including calls to international FnF numbers, cost a flat rate of Rs0.75 per 30 seconds.

Telenor Talkshawk 24 Hrs

This round-the-clock prepaid plan delivers flat calling rates of Rs0.50 per 30 seconds to on-net and off-net FnF numbers, Rs0.80 per second to PTCL, Telenor, and off-net numbers, and Rs0.75 per 30 seconds for international FnF airtime.

Telenor Talkshawk Har Minute

For longer talk time, this prepaid plan charges calls by the minute, thus longer duration of calls cost lower when compared to that of the other prepaid plans. Each minute of talk time to on-net FnF numbers costs only Rs1, while all other local calls cost Rs2 per minute.

Talkshawk 63

Mobile users who prefer flat calling rates across all domestic calls may choose the Talkshawk 63 prepaid tariff, while delivers Rs0.63 per second of calls to any local destination. Thus mobile usage expenses can be tracked more predictably.

Mobile Internet Bundles and Messaging Rates

Additionally, mobile users with internet-ready handsets may subscribe to the daily mobile internet package, worth Rs10 with 3 megabytes of data already included. One may dial *345*901# from his or her mobile phone to subscribe to the daily bundle. Mobile web users who need more data allocation may opt-in for the weekly (Rs35, 15MB) or the monthly (Rs105, 45MB) package.

On the other hand, text messaging costs Rs1 to any networks, while each MMS sent costs Rs5. Incoming messages, SMS or MMS, comes at no extra cost.

Basic calling features and services such as caller ID, call waiting, domestic roaming, and even incoming calls are free of charge across all plans.

Telenor Prepaid Refills

Prepaid users who wish to replenish their mobile airtime may purchase Telenor prepaid top-ups from Telenor flagship stores, authorized agents, and retail outlets located throughout Pakistan. Customers may purchase a Telenor refill scratch card or top-up their account through easyload, the more convenient electronic option.

For international refills, Babblebug.com offers Telenor prepaid load denominations ranging from US$5 to US$60.
