Roshan (Afghanistan)Launched in 2003, Roshan is a mobile network operator based entirely in Afghanistan. From its initial market of 30,000 subscribers, Roshan now boasts more than 4 million customers or about 58% of the market share, making the wireless provider the largest in the country, covering 230 cities and towns across Afghanistan. With more than $450 million already invested in its mobile infrastructure, Roshan ensures that its existing mobile technology delivers only the best cellular services with competitive and reliable rates, further strengthening the true meanings of its brand name, “light” and “hope.” Through the years, Roshan has received awards for delivering excellent service. In 2006, the mobile network won the Best Telecom Brand of the Year of the CommsMEA Awards. In September 2007, CommsMEA Awards also honored Roshan as the Customer Service Provider of the Year. And in March 2010, Roshan continued to shine as it received the Special Recognition for Best Quality of Service, awarded by Afghanistan Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (ATRA). Today, Roshan continues to extend its superb cellular services to a wider consumer base by opening its doors to mobile users who prefer prepaid over postpaid service plans. With no contracts and monthly bills, Roshan prepaid plans are the winning formula in strengthening the network’s popularity and reliability among the general Afghan population. Deployed overseas?
