Nextel Communications, Inc. is a mobile telecommunications company that provides digital mobile and radio communications services through Motorola’s Integrated Dispatch Enhanced network (iDEN) technology, which combines radio, mobile, and alphanumeric paging service all in one device. Founded in the United States in 1994, Nextel launched its first operations in Brazil in 1997, acquiring 20 companies that previously provided analog coverage in the country.

From 2004 to 2006, Nextel extended its International Direct Connect services to Chile, Argentina, Peru, Mexico, and the United States. Nextel Prepaid Calling Rate

For Nextel subscribers who intend to use the mobile network’s services without long-term commitments, hefty monthly bills, and one-time sign-up or pre-termination fees, Nextel offers prepaid pay-as-you-go SIM cards and refill phone cards that offer a flat rate of R$0.70 per minute of talk time.
