Movistar El Salvador is a mobile brand name owned Telefónica Móviles, a subsidiary of the Spanish Grupo Telefónica Móviles, which offers GSM and CDMA coverage in 25 countries in South America and Europe. In El Salvador, Movistar provides GSM 850MHz and CDMA mobile services.

In 1995, Telefónica Móviles first established its operations in Spain under the brand name Movistar, when the communications provider deployed its first GSM infrastructures across the country. Movistar also serves more than 40 million landline users and more than 15 million broadband internet subscribers. Today, the mobile network competes with America Movil in providing cellular services in the Americas.

With daily prepaid calling plans, Movistar subscribers may choose Movistar 10 (10 on-net airtime minutes, worth $0.49), Movistar 150 (150 on-net airtime minutes, worth $0.99), and Movistar Libre (24-hour unlimited on-net airtime, worth $1.49). As for affordable night-time calling, the Noches Movistarprepaid package, worth $0.49, takes effect from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Movistar also offers two days of unlimited on-net calling withMovistar Ilimitado 2 díasHabla, which sells for $1.99. And for Movistar prepaid users who make more mobile calls to fixed line numbers, 25 Minutos a Líneas Fijas delivers 25 minutes of talk time to any landline operator for only $0.75.

Movistar Prepaid Text Messaging (SMS) Plans

Ful SMS and 35 SMS

With this plan, Movistar subscribers enjoy unlimited on-net text messaging and 100 SMS allocations to USA, Canada, and any domestic networks. The bonus is valid only until 11:59 p.m. of the same day of registration. Ful SMS sells for only $0.99.

For lower SMS allocation, 35 SMS offers 35 on-net text messages for only $0.30. Just like Ful SMS, this prepaid package expires at 11:59 pm on the same day of registration.

This daily prepaid mobile web and text messaging bundle delivers unlimited text messaging and internet access—only for $0.99 per day. And just like the other internet packages, Par expires at 11:59 p.m. on the same day.
