Digicel

Digicel Suriname, a GSM mobile network operator owned by the Digicel Group, is the second entrant to Suriname’s telecommunications market,  supporting mobile services through its GSM 800/1900MHz wireless infrastructures.

Digicel offers one of the most affordable prepaid rates in Suriname. During peak hours (7 a.m. to 9 p.m.), mobile calling to other Digicel mobile numbers costs (Surinamese dollars) SRD0.72 per minute. During off-peak hours (9 p.m. to 7 a.m.) and weekends (Midnight Friday to Midnight Sunday), on-net calls cost only SRD0.65 per minute. On the other hand, each minute of airtime to other mobile numbers and landlines costs SRD0.73 and SRD0.67, respectively, regardless of the time of day.

To replenish airtime minutes, mobile users may purchase Digicel prepaid refill cards or electronic top-ups from Digicel stores, authorized distributors, and retail outlets located across Suriname.
