Digicel (Guadeloupe)

In June 2006, the Digicel Group, one of the fastest growing telecommunications companies in the Caribbean, launched GSM mobile operations in the French West Indies territories of Martinique, French Guiana, and Guadeloupe, investing more than US$25 million in mobile infrastructures across the region.

The establishment of Digicel networks in Guadeloupe, French Guiana, and Martinique was made possible through the telecom’s acquisition of Bouygues Telecom Caraibe in April 2006, adding 160,000 more subscribers to Digicel’s already burgeoning mobile market.

Since the Digicel Group’s incorporation in 2001 in Jamaica, the wireless network has expanded its operations to 32 markets across the Pacific, the Caribbean, and Central America. And because of its steadfast commitment in providing state-of-the-art technology in its covered countries and territories, Digicel now boasts more than 11.5 million subscribers.

In Guadeloupe, Digicel offers postpaid and prepaid mobile services with the wireless provider’s GSM and 3G infrastructures deployed across the territory. And just like other Digicel networks, Digicel Guadeloupe offers one of the most cost-effective pay-as-you-go services in the region.
