Digicel (Bonaire)In April 2006, Digicel acquired the license to establish GSM network infrastructures in the Caribbean island of Bonaire, which belongs to the Netherlands Antilles located off the coast of Venezuela. users who prefer cost-effective usage rates without long-term commitments or

Digicel Prepaid Plans and Services Digicel Flex Digicel Flex, the cellular provider’s prepaid brand, delivers cheaper calling rates during off-peak hours, which run from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., during which on-net (Digicel to Digicel) calls are charged (US Dollar) $0.28 per minute, while calls to fixed lines cost $0.34 per minute, and calls to other mobile networks cost $0.37 per minute. During peak hours (7 a.m. to 11 p.m.), mobile calling costs $0.32/min to other Digicel mobile phones, $0.34/min to landlines, and $0.37/min to other networks. Each text message sent to domestic destinations, whether on-net or off-net, costs a flat rate of $0.15, while international SMS costs $0.25 per message sent. Also, Digicel offers pay-as-you-go internet access, which costs $1.12 per MB of data, which is charged on a per-KB basis. With DigiFLEX, basic calling features such as caller ID, call conferencing, call waiting, call hold, and voicemail are already included; plus, all incoming calls are free of charge. SMS Bundles Frequent SMS users may choose Digicel’s SMS bundle plans. At $2.80, the 50 SMS Bundle Plan entitles the subscriber 50 on-net text messages or an equivalent rate of about $0.06 per text message. The 120 SMS Bundle Plan, on the other hand, includes 120 on-net text messages for only $5.60 or an equivalent rate of about $0.05 per SMS. To purchase the SMS Bundle Plans, one needs to dial *143# from his or her mobile phone. Both bundles expire 7 days after registration. International Prepaid Voice Bundle Digicel’s International Prepaid Voice Bundle entitles mobile users more affordable calling rates to Canada, the Netherlands, Colombia, Peru, Dominican Republic, and Venezuela. The prepaid bundle features three options: 15 Minutes Plan, which costs $2.80 and includes 15 minutes of international airtime; 45 Minutes Plan, priced at $8.5, which includes 45 minutes of international calls; and 80 Minutes Plan, which costs $14 and includes 80 minutes of international calls. Frequent callers to the listed international destinations are encouraged to choose higher bundles for cheaper per-minute rates. Unlimited Data Access For unlimited data access, subscribers may subscribe to 1 day ($1.95), 7 days ($10), 14 days ($17.5), or 30 days ($30) of unlimited internet access on their mobile phones with GPRS/EDGE capability. One only needs to dial *135# to subscribe to the unlimited prepaid internet access plans. Digicel Prepaid Refill Top-ups For Digicel prepaid top-ups, Digicel FLEXcards are available in recharge denominations of $3, $5, $10, and $20, which may be purchased from Digicel retail stores located in the island of Bonaire.
