Dialog Axiata PLC, a subsidiary of Axiata Group Berhad, is a telecommunications company that supports 2.5G, 3G, and 3.5G cellular coverage in Sri Lanka. Currently, Dialog Axiata also provides broadband internet and satellite television services.

Dialog Axiata, headquartered in Colombo, was established in August 1993. Since then, the network’s customer base has grown to more than 7 million, about 6 million of which use prepaid services—a testament to the network’s success in promoting cost-effective, contract-free mobile products and services that has gained more favor to the majority of the Sri Lankan mobile market.

Also being consistent in keeping its telecommunications infrastructures up-to-date, Dialog was lauded as the first to introduce 3G coverage in South Asia, making video calling and broadband mobile internet a possibility. And because Dialog offers flexible and cost-effective tariffs, subscribers experience more freedom in choosing the services that appeal more closely to their mobile usage needs.

This prepaid plan enables users to track their airtime usage more accurately, charging calls by the second, with a per-minute rate of Rs1.50 for on-net calls and Rs2.50 for off-net calls. On the other hand, video calls cost Rs3 per minute to other Dialog numbers and Rs5 per minute to other networks.

Subscribers who often make longer calls may opt-in for the Minute Package, which charges a per-minute rate of Rs1 for on-net calls and Rs2 for off-net calls, a tad more affordable than the per-second tariff.

Other plans include the Ethera Package for international calling and text messaging, and Kids Connection, a special package that supports word filtering and modification features. For specific rates and more detailed information, subscribers may dial 0777-123-456.

As for other mobile services, Dialog prepaid plans charge Rs0.25 per local SMS, Rs5 per international
SMS, and Rs1 per 1,000KB of data.

To replenish airtime minutes, mobile users may purchase Dialog prepaid refill cards or electronic top- ups from authorized distributors, retail outlets and Dialog flagship stores located across the country.
