Claro - Nicaragua
A mobile brand owned by América Móvil, Claro is one of the leading wireless service providers in Nicaragua, operating GSM 1900 infrastructures to provide voice, messaging, data, roaming, and value-added services. Claro’s 2006 establishment in Nicaragua was a result of América Móvil’s unification of PCS Digital, Alo, Personal, and Enital brands under one cellular trademark, “Claro.”
América Móvil provides more than just high-quality wireless coverage in all the 18 countries it operates, the telecommunications provider also supports fixed telephony, broadband internet, and television services—all made possible with the company’s cutting-edge communications technology that includes a 4,000-kilometer optical fiber network.
In Nicaragua, Claro offers UMTS (3G) coverage over the 850MHz spectrum. With 3G, Claro guarantees faster data transfer speeds that support video calling and seamless multimedia streaming. And with the cellular network’s prepaid billing platforms, mobile users, regardless of their credit standing, may take advantage of all available services without the need for contract sign-ups and mandatory monthly bills.
Today, the mobile network is the largest in the Americas,
serving an aggregate of more than 200 million customers
in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras,
Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, and Peru, among many others.
